Anyway I feel like if you’re going to go this far, why not go FARTHER? Aren’t there different kinds of metals with different flavors? Isn’t there any blood-flavored tea? Why is all dried fruit lumped together? Vinegar-flavored tea? What does “perfume” even mean here?
I didn’t even notice the char and earthy categories at first. “Burnt food”? “Decaying earth”?? “WET ROCKS”????
a gentle reminder that you did well this year. you met new people, learned new things and felt new feelings. you did so many things that made you scared. you picked yourself up off the floor after feeling completely defeated or heartbroken. there were some really tough nights but you survived them all. you made people happy just by existing. you accepted many goodbyes but the serendipitous meetings made up for them. it was your own hard work that paid off but you always downplay it or compare yourself to others. that’s not fair on yourself. you’ve come so far from the first day of this year. you have more wisdom and strength now. yes, other people seem more “successful” but does that even matter? please don’t think so lowly of yourself to only think about your failures. 2018 was your year of growth. I hope you take a moment to be kind to yourself, and believe that 2019 will be even better.

Okay, the woman who said she didn’t want to see LGBT sex also said she didn’t want to see straight sex either, so that’s not really harmful. It’s understandable to want to keep all of it in private, whether I personally agree with it or not(really, I don’t care so long as it isn’t in my face too much to where I can ignore it if I want, and to where children can’t see it, regardless of who’s hooking up, for obvious reasons).

Also, Lord of the Rings, especially for the time it was written, actually has pretty decent female characters(mainly the elves, because too perfect as a whole). You forget about the woman who killed the Witch King? The elven woman who Aragorn had a relationship with? (I don’t remember all the names offhand, but still)
And yes, for a long time, Lord of the Rings was the standard for fantasy(ironic because Tolkien wasn’t going for that, apparently he wanted a mythology for Britain), so a lot of books were written in that style trying to be just as great. Unfortunately, it didn’t always turn out that well. Eventually, that started to change.
However, it seems like Tolkien only included characters that were essential to the story. Characters like Frodo, Sam, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, fucking GANDALF, etc. You can’t blame him, it was the early 1900s when those were written if I remember correctly, and second wave feminism hadn’t even happened yet. Though if you read the Silmarillion, I’m pretty sure there are plenty of female characters, and that was mostly written by Tolkien and finished by another author. He didn’t do a bad job for the time. He’s not to blame.
Also, what about She-Ra? Okay I’ll admit that’s the biggest one I can think off offhand that’s centered around a woman, but I know there are more around.
Anyway, fantasy doesn’t have a problem with women, stop looking for sexism where there is none. Tolkien had few women in the Lord of the Rings because they didn’t play that big of a role overall, and later fantasies we’re striving to be the next Lord of the Rings. ASOIF was good as a whole as far as I’m aware, and now the writing community is improving on its prose to where it’s better than the info dump intros that Tolkien and others had.
Also, writers: don’t use info dumps. Don’t try to be the next Tolkien. Don’t try to write a “better” Lord of the Rings. Also, don’t force in representation. Do what makes sense for your story and make the characters good. If you end up with plenty of diversity, good for you. If you don’t, well, your characters will be good anyway and it ultimately won’t matter except to racists.
To leftists: if you can’t relate to a character who isn’t the same race as you, even if they have similar personality traits to you, just because they aren’t your race, well, that’s pretty fucking racist. Nobody has a right to representation. Absolutely nobody. Yes, even white people don’t have a right to representation. Even straight people don’t have a right to it. Neither do minorities(speaking in American terms) or LGBT people. And really, outside of hooking up and romantic plots/subplots, sexuality doesn’t matter, and race doesn’t matter either unless you’re keeping characters as they were established, in which case, don’t cast Black Panther as a Middle Eastern, Asian, or white guy, don’t cast Spiderman(the OG Peter Parker one) as a black, Middle Eastern, or Asian dude. Don’t cast Wonder Woman as something she’s not.
Now, spin offs and next generation sort of deals where different characters are taking over those roles(as in Spiderman, Black Panther, Wonder Woman, etc)? Make them whatever you want them to be. Just don’t change canon.
Oh right, and Saiyans are already a minority, so leave them alone. There’s only 4.25 of them since Pan and Bulla/Bra were born in super(2 pure saiyans(Goku and Vegeta), 4 half saiyans(Gohan, Trunks, Goten, Bulla/Bra), and 1 quarter saiyan(Gohan’s daughter, Pan)).Yeah they look white but they aren’t even human, probably are supposed to look more Japanese, are literal monkeys more or less(it sounds racist but they really are, they have tails and can turn into giant monkey forms called the Oozaru. Goku did it as a kid, so did Gohan, Vegeta did it towards the end of the Saiyan saga, etc. They do transform into Super Saiyan(aka ssj or ss) later on, downplaying their monkey like nature), and were designed by Akira Toriyama, one of my favorite artists and if you love his art style and video games, I highly recommend the Dragon Quest franchise, because really, that one is probably one of the best things he’s worked on outside of Dragon Ball as a whole.
And just so you know, for your SJW nonsense, yes, Akira Toriyama is, in fact, Japanese. Oh look, a white guy supporting a foreign creator who doesn’t really speak English!? I'mma just wait for the NPC programming to not compute lol
